Dual Survival: Documentary TV Series on Discovery Channel
Dual Survival is a documentary television series on the Discovery Channel produced by Original Media. The program follows two survivalists showcasing contrasting wilderness survival skills: Cody Lundin, a minimalist and primitive skills expert, and Dave Canterbury, a military-style survival expert and professional hunting guide and tracker. The second season of the series premiered on the Discovery Channel on April 22, 2011.
In each episode, Cody and Dave are placed in a common survival situation such as marooned sailors, lost hikers, trapped divers, and stranded mountain climbers. They then have to survive for a few days with only the gear that a person who found themselves in that scenario would have. Along the way, they demonstrate how to survive off of the land and make gear they need to survive.
Conflict often arises due to the differences in Cody's and Dave's survival methods. Cody, who does not wear shoes, often slows down the team when they are negotiating tough terrain. Dave often tries dangerous methods of gathering food and advancing towards rescue such as reaching into a beehive for honey and rappelling over a ledge to save time.
Dual Survival Season 2 Episode 12: Road to Nowhere) airs at 9:00pm EDT on The Discovery Channel. Synopsis of the episode: Surviving the isolated woods of Northern Maine.
